مخرج مصري مواليد 6 مارس 1916 بدا حياتة الفنية بممارسة الترجمة والنقد الفني منذ عام 1937 عمل مساعد مخرج منذ عام 1939 مع عدد من المخرجين منهم كمال سليم وكامل التلمساني عمل رئيسا لقسم السيناريو باستديو مصر ثم مديرا للانتاج حيت اكتسب خبرة كبيرة في الاخراج كما أنه أسهم فى تأسيس المعهد العالى للسينما ومكتبته وكان يقوم بتدريس مادة السيناريو لطلاب المعهد و توفي يوم 18 نوفمبر عام 1971. من أعماله فيلم صراع في الوادي[1954] فيلم أيامنا الحلوة[1955] فيلم معبودة الجماهير[1967].
