ممثل ومخرج عراقي، ولد في بغداد عام 1963. تخرج في معهد الفنون الجميلة قسم المسرح في عام 1985. بدأ مشواره الفني عام 1986 من خلال المسرح، حيث شارك في العديد من المسرحيات والمسلسلات التلفزيونية. في عام 2008، أخرج باسم قهار أول مسرحية له بعنوان أرابيا. تبعها بإخراج العديد من المسرحيات الأخرى، منها كهرب، والأيام المخمورة. ومن أبرز مسلسلاته ملوك الطوائف (2005) ومولانا العاشق (2015) وصديق العمر (2014) والدولة العميقة (2022).
