حمد جابر هو ممثل وكاتب كويتي بارز، بدأ مسيرته الفنية عام 1961. اشتهر بدور العيدروس في المسرحية الشهيرة اقتنص الفرصة. يعتبر من روّاد المسرح الكويتي، حيث انضم إلى فرقة المسرح العربي حتى عام 1975، ثم شارك في تأسيس فرقة المسرح الحر مع مجموعة من الفنانين، من بينهم عائشة إبراهيم وعبد العزيز الفهد، كما أسس لاحقًا فرقة مسرح الزرزور. كتب عددًا من الأعمال المسرحية، من أبرزها مسرحية الطماع. ولا يزال تأثيره واضحًا في المشهد المسرحي الكويتي حتى اليوم.
