مخرج مصري، ولد في عام 1934، ودرس في معهد باريس للسينما وتخرّج منه في عام 1965، وتميز منذ عودته إلى مصر بعشرات الأفلام، منها: (المستحيل، البوسطجي، إمبراطورية ميم، أبي فوق الشجرة، ثرثرة فوق النيل). توفي في عام 2003 عن عمر يناهز 69 عامًا.
