Peacemaker

Spinning straight out of James Gunn's 'The Suicide Squad', Christopher Smith—better known by his tragically ironic moniker, Peacemaker—wakes up from a hospital bed only to find his prison sentence exchanged for another murky black-ops assignment. Recruited by an unglamorous offshoot of A.R.G.U.S. to take down an enigmatic extraterrestrial threat codenamed 'Project Butterfly', Chris is paired with an exasperated handler, a tech nerd, a rookie with moral dilemmas, and an adoring pet bald eagle named Eagly. Beneath the explosive head-shots, gleeful 1980s hair-metal riffs, and foul-mouthed slapstick, the series unearths a surprisingly delicate soul. Chris is forced to confront the violent bigotry instilled by his white supremacist father, wrestling with whether a man engineered for blind, bloody nationalism can ever redefine what fighting for 'peace' actually means.
